Grant was raised in Vancouver, and has lived and traveled extensively around the world but has called the North Shore his home since 1998.

Grant earned a tennis scholarship at Texas A&M where he achieved All-American recognition. His professional tennis career took him to a position that few people could say they have been - # 1 in the World. Grant won 22 ATP Tour titles, was a three-time finalist at Wimbledon and competed in two Olympics. He retired in 1997 and was soon inducted in the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame. Grant has been Executive Director for Tennis B.C. and serves as captain of the Canadian Davis Cup team. He has contributed significantly to the interest and development of tennis in the Province.
